Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a heart condition that causes the heart muscle to become abnormally thick, making it harder for the heart to pump blood properly. It can affect people of all ages, including young athletes, and often shows little to no symptoms before a sudden cardiac event.
Yes. Many young athletes with HCM appear healthy, active, and full of energy with no visible warning signs. That is why awareness and early heart screening conversations are so important.
Colin’s Heart Foundation was created in honor of Colin Hill to raise awareness about hidden heart conditions in young athletes and advocate for education, awareness, and early heart screening conversations within communities and sports programs.
Our mission is to spread awareness about HCM and other hidden heart conditions, encourage proactive heart health conversations for young athletes, and honor Colin’s legacy by helping protect other families from experiencing this type of tragedy.
You can support the mission by donating, sharing Colin’s story, spreading awareness about HCM, inviting others to the website, and helping us connect with schools, coaches, medical professionals, and community organizations.
Yes. Colin’s Heart Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Eligible contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors should retain their donation receipts for their records.
We welcome opportunities to collaborate with schools, athletic programs, healthcare professionals, nonprofits, and community leaders who share our passion for awareness, education, and protecting young athletes.
